  We’re racing for pies and charity again this year at the 20th Annual Son Run in Wrightsville Beach, NC! All awards winners will receive a coveted Apple Annie’s pie PLUS various gift certificates. This year’s three child focused charities are: Methodist Home for Children, A Safe Place, Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear, and Congregations for Children and will receive all proceeds from the race. This is an outreach project of Wrightsville United Methodist Church.

  Love Freddy’s Frozen Custard? Sign up today to take the Freddy’s Frozen Custard Challenge or sign up for the 5k! For you challengers, run the flat course around the Commons Loop and then head into a nature trail filled with frozen custard and a few challenges along the way. For 5k runners, run the flat course around the Commons Loop and then enjoy some frozen custard at the finish line. Don’t forget about the CASH PRIZES for Top Female, Top Male and Top Team (limit four people). There will also be vendors, DJ and frozen custard bar for everyone to enjoy! From Saturday's packet pickup at the Embassy Suites and pre-race dinner is available onboard the Battleship to the post race party at the Battleship overlooking downtown Wilmington the event will be outstanding. The 3-bridge courses are fun and challenging and you'll will have well earned your custom half marathon finisher medal presented by US Marines in dress blue uniforms! The Battleship North Carolina Memorial is right across the river from downtown Wilmington, NC which had been voted the best river front in America.

  Wouldn’t a race on the day after Thanksgiving be a great idea? We thought so too! Avoid the shopping crowds, sleep in, and then dash in to join us for the Annual Black Friday Dash! This is a Family Fun event that provides something for all ages! There will be entertainment from various organizations, beer coupons for participants, music and an awards ceremony. Starting at Waterline Brewery and then winding along the Cape Fear River, through downtown Wilmington, turning at the new Pier 33 and then ending back at Waterline Brewery, this professionally managed and timed 5K is a new local tradition.

  William H Craig Race for Life 5K In-Store Event

  Established to honor the legacy of Dr. Bill Craig and his many contributions to the community. Funds from this event will provide financial support for Girls on the Run, STRIDE, Victory Junction Gang and others. The William H Craig 5K is the end of the season celebration 5k race for Girls on the Run, Heart & Sole, and STRIDE participants. Come join over 500 boys and girls, grades 3rd-8th, as they celebrate their accomplishments of the season! The 5K starts and ends at Legion Stadium. A fun and festive atmosphere, William H Craig Race for Life 5K celebrates friends, family and wellness! Public runners are welcome as this race provides scholarships to children who need assistance to participate in the Girls on the Run and STRIDE programs. Professional race production by the Wilmington Family YMCA and timing by Brunswick Timing ensures a fun, safe, and accurate 5k race experience!

  Ainsley’s Angels in SENC is celebrating our two year anniversary in 2018, not only by hosting our annual Anniversary Ball at the Blockade Runner Beach Resort, but by also adding the Frosty 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run. Join us for these wonderful events and experience the joy demonstrated by each of our Angel Riders as they participate in events that most of us take for granted! Funds raised by the SENC ambassadorship are used to purchase and maintain equipment, including race chairs and supplies, and the trailer in which we use to transport chairs to various races in the area. Our goal is to increase the number of chairs available to our ambassadorship so that more and more Athlete Riders can “roll with the wind!” You can help us to continue to spread the message of inclusion by registering for these “AAmazing” events, and even more by making an additional donation. Come out and experience the joy of inclusion with Ainsley’s Angels!
