From our humble beginnings in 1997 with just a little more than 200 runners, the Jingle & Jog 5k has been a festive marquee event in the Sarasota community for two decades. With over 7,000 finishers of the event – we want you to add your name to the list! All funds raised by the event benefit the mission of The Haven, an established non-profit with a 68-year legacy of providing programs and services for children and adults with disabilities. Sanctioned by the Manasota Track Club, this family-friendly road race is for every athlete and every fitness goal. Now in its 49th year, the run is a fixture in the running community of Sarasota. The 13th Annual Andrew Monroe Memorial Scholarship 5K Run/Walk takes place on the #1 Rated Siesta Key Beach in beautiful Sarasota, Florida The event provides scholarships for further education to Riverview High School Senior Soccer players, JROTC Cadets and Track Athletes, If there are remaining funds they will continue to grow the Sarasota Community Foundation Scholarship's in Andrew's name. The Scrub Jay 5K is a course designed with the road-runners in mind. There is still the beauty and nature of Oscar Scherer Park on mostly hard packed surfaces but there are still some tree roots and a section on the trails and a little bit of the dreaded "sugar sand." You will begin near the Nature Center and travel the length of the main entrance road just about to the entrance before turning onto the Lester Finley trail and South Creek Nature Trail on mostly prepared-surface park trails including crushed shell and paver paths then onto earthen trails for the last 3/4 mile with only a very small sandy area.

The Scrub Jay Scramble 10K is a course on the trails, sugar-sand included, with some ups and downs using recently created pedestrian underpasses and overpasses. Designed by trail runners for trail runners using the parks' features to challenge even experienced trail runners. Check out the detailed description and map of the Scrub Jay Scramble 10K. For 2025 there will be a slight detour to avoid the damaged areas of the Orange Trail.

This is a Foster Care Awareness Event. In-person and virtual racing options are available. The Kids' Fun Run starts at 8:30am. The 5K will be on a CHIP START between 9-9:10am. You will receive an official chip time and place. Master and Overall timed at gun time 9am. USATF Rules.

More than just a race, the Superhero race brings together child welfare agencies and the community to highlight the approximately 700 youth who are in local foster care in Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto Counties, while providing a family-friendly event with music, a kiddie zone, food, and giveaways.

Kids in foster care and those who care for them are some of our community's most incredible heroes, which is the reason they have chosen a superhero theme. So don't be shy... come dressed as your favorite hero and get ready for an awesome race and cause! Participation medals will be awarded to the first 700 5K runners to cross the finish line!

This will always be a small, family feel event - race capped at 500 registrants.
